Linda Pettis
Linda Pettis, 85, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on September 18, 2022, in Beaumont, Texas.
Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont, Texas. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont, Texas.
Visitation will be from 5:00PM to 7:00PM, Friday, September 23, 2022, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont, Texas.
Born in San Diego, California, on May 14, 1937, she was the daughter of Claude Anderson Kingery and Willie Evelyn Kingery. Linda studied Home Economics at Baylor University before marrying the love of her life of 63 years, R. Leon Pettis and starting their family together in Beaumont. She worked for her husband’s law office for many years, as well as being a very accomplished seamstress. Linda was a dedicated member of FBC in Beaumont and sang in the choir. She was very active with her husband always working on her garden, feeding the birds, traveling, along with being a part of the Lions Club. Linda loved unconditionally and had a huge heart. She always seemed to be happy and smiling, especially when spending time with those she loved. Linda was truly loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, R. Leon Pettis; her parents, Claude Anderson Kingery and Willie Evelyn Kingery.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan and husband Barry Gillam, Garland, Texas; her son, Wade and wife Jackie Pettis, of Westcliffe, Colorado; and daughter, Carolyn and husband Robert Quillin, of Fort Worth, Texas; as well as 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wade Pettis, Barry Gillam, Robert Quillin, Brantley Welborn, Trevor Hoefgen, Richard Benson and Nathaniel Quillin
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church in Beaumont, Texas
