Linda Gayle Severns, 71, of Orange, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013, in Orange.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Dr. Barry Jones, minister of 9th & Elm Church of Christ in Orange. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Linda was born in Mexia, Texas on August 22, 1942, to the late Aubrey Dash Bates and Ada Lee (Black) Bates. She was a 1961 graduate of Lutcher Stark High School and attended Abilene Christian and Lamar University.
She was a member of 9th & Elm Church of Christ and was blessed with a beautiful voice and loved to sing. Linda loved ice cream and would give up a meal for a bowl of sherbet any day.
We would like to thank Pearl Helm and Kaylynn Bray of Family Care Assisted Living in Roselawn for their loving care of Linda and also to her dear friend, Kathy Flanigan.
Mrs. Linda was dearly loved by the 9th & Elm Church of Christ family and taught them all patience.

Dear family of Linda: My condolences on the loss of your dear loved one. I wish to share some comfort from the Bible at this sad time. The Bible teaches that one day in the near future, our Creator, by means of the ransom sacrifice of his son Jesus, will reunite us with our dead loved ones, by means of a resurrection right hear on earth in paradise conditions that will be filled with peace, happiness and perfect health for everyone. (John 5:28,29; Revelation 21:4; Psalms 37:10,11; Isaiah 33:24. ) As you read the above texts in your Bible, may the wonderful hope they give us, along with loving memories, give you a measure of comfort during this most difficult time.
