Lois ?Scottie? Scott, 91, of Beaumont, one of ten brothers and sisters, was born October 27, 1919 in Saratoga to George H. and Cora Dell Broderson Hart and passed away September 22, 2011 in Conroe, TX.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Claybar Kelley Watkins Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 ? 7:00 p.m.
Mrs. Scott was a member of American Business Women?s Association, Grand Chapter of Texas of Eastern Star OES #71, Beaumont, since 1942, volunteered at Some Other Place and was a faithful member of Amelia Baptist Church.
Scottie enjoyed meeting people, traveling, and working in her church. Her positive attitude, kindness, and sweetness will be missed by many people. Whenever you would ask her how she felt, she would reply ?I?m happy?. For everyone who knew her, there will always be a part of Scottie in our hearts. Scottie always enjoyed the family reunions in Saratoga.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter A. Scott who passed away in 1997, they would have been married 75 years this past September 12th and her loving daughter, ?Priss? who passed away in 1995 at the age of 50; and parents.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jerry Lynn Scott of Abilene; grandchildren, Kenny Scott, Jr and his wife, Candy from Abilene, Jerry Scott, Jr. from Andrews, TX, Darrin Barton and his wife, Carolyn from Cedar Park, TX and Shelley Barton Brantley and her husband, Brant from Kilgore, TX; great grandchildren, Matt, Hedi, Justin, Josh, Jerry Scott, III and Natalie & Neal Barton; great great grandchildren, Blake, Hallie, Chloe, Emmie & Ellie Scott; brother George Hart of Saratoga; numrt nieces and nephews; and very special friend, Dolly Garza of Beaumont.
