Louis "Gonzo" Gonzalez, Jr., 53, of Orange, Texas died Thursday, September 9, 2010, at his home.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Doug Bray of Harmony Baptist Church in Vidor. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
Born in Beaumont, Texas on December 16, 1956, Louis was the son of Nancy Dolores Martinez Copeland and Louis Gonzalez, Sr. He formerly worked as an operator at Chevron, and spent his retirement as a fishing guide on Sabine Lake. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Louis is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Mindi and Jerry Vandervoort of Conroe; son and daughter-in-law, Rachel and Dustin Gonzalez of Orange; grandchildren, Ace Vandervoort, Emma Gonzalez, and Brock Vandervoort; sisters, Cindy Gonzalez of Orange, Nancy Bullock of The Woodlands, and Maria Heald of Lumberton; and brothers, Charles Gonzalez of Orange, Johnny Gonzalez of Beaumont, and Joseph Gonzalez of Orange.
He is also survived by Karen Gonzalez of Beaumont.
Serving as Pallbearers will be John Ray Richardson, Joe McDowell, Tyler Ellis, Mike Hughes, and Joe Arceneaux.
