Lucy Mae Simon, 86, died Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, after a lengthy illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2007 at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Mauriceville, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Delphyn J. Meeks. Burial will follow at St. Mary?s Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007, a Vigil will begin at 7:30 on Thursday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Mrs. Simon was born on May 19, 1921 in Scott, LA. Mrs. Simon was a housewife and was also a member of the St. Maurice Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking gumbo for her family, fishing with her sons, shopping with her daughters, visiting with grandchildren and playing bingo with her special friends. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robley Melvin Simon, four sisters and one brother.
She is survived by her children and their spouses; Beverly Burkland and husband Jack of San Marcos; Linda Vaughn and husband Dennis of Mansfield; Jeanne Stephenson and husband Mark of Mauriceville ; Glenn Simon and wife Linda of Houston; and Jimmy Simon and wife Martha of Mauriceville. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, sister, Helen Boudreaux of BreauxBridge, LA and brother, Aaron Hernandez of Lake Charles, LA.
Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons; Chad Burkland, Russell Simon, David Cooper, Jonathan Simon, Robley Simon Jr., Bryan Vaughn, and Bubba Stephenson.
