Lula Marie Conway Skinner, 86, of Orange, died Monday, August 9, 2010, at Golden Years Assisted Living in Orange.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Barry Bradley of First Baptist Church in Orange. Burial will follow at Parish Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Born in Orange on June 17, 1924, Lula was the daughter of Archie William Conway and Martha Jane Weaver Conway. Lula obtained her Bachelors from Lamar University and a Masters from University of Houston. She was a school teacher for LCM ISD for 30 years and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Delta Kappa Gamma, Golden K. Kiwanis, Orange County Retired Teachers, and a member of First Baptist Church in Orange.
Preceded in death by her husband, Paul Edward Skinner and brother, A.W. Conway, Lula is survived by her daughter, Jane Taylor and her husband Greg of Friendswood and son, William Paul Skinner and his wife, Susan of Fairmont Community.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Allisha Bonneaux, Slade Skinner, Marae Versteeg, Terese Matricardi, Nanette Hoelmer, Marcus Taylor and Jane Marie Cowan; 16 great grandchildren; and caregivers, Helen Dowden, Betty Mott, Dixie Reed, Vicky LeBlanc and Cheryl Jagneaux.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Slade Skinner, Marcus Taylor, Gary Bonneaux, Eddie Welch, Steve VerSteeg, Jon Hoelmer, Trey Matricardi and Joe Cowan.
