Lula Ray Walles Peveto, 98, of Orange died Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at The Meadows.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 16, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Glenn Landry of the Assembly of God Church in Mauriceville.
Burial will follow at Mary Williams Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
Lula was born on June 27, 1909, in Orange. She was the daughter of Ben and Mary Adeline Simmons Walles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Payton Bland Peveto; sons, Harry E. Peveto and Benny Peveto; daughter, Mary Lou Burt; brothers, Claude Walles, Trave Walles, and Woodrow Walles; and sisters, Ruby Lee Waldrep, Gladys Davis, Hazel Honeycutt, and Wilrey Hock.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter-in-law, Doris Peveto of Orangefield; sisters, Rena Waldrep of Orangefield, Rose Myrtle Hancock of Mauriceville, and Adeline Hanks of Woodville; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Benny Peveto, Bobby Peveto, Jack Johnson, David Hock, Clint Higginbotham, and Wilford Walles.
Honorary pallbearers are Ted Lea, Tony Brown, and Jack Peveto.
