Mabel Gentry, 79, of Orange, died Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Memorial Herman Baptist Hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Jay Thomas of McArthur Heights Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at Williamson’s Cemetery in Vidor.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., Monday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Mabel was born on February 4, 1928, in Orange. She was the daughter of Joseph and Fannie Mae Stoffer Spring. Mrs. Gentry retired as a custodian at LCMISD and was a member of Texas Teacher’s Retirement Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Allen Gentry.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd Dean Gentry and Henrietta of Orange, and Larry Gentry and Alexandra “Cookie” of Mauriceville; grandchildren, Deana and Lijo Joseph, Anna and Scott Bandy, and Juliette Gentry; and great-grandchildren, Lane Joseph, Libby Joseph, and Addison Bandy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to The Residence Council Fund at Optimst Village, 3650 Optimist Way, Orange, TX 77630.
