Mack Elden Moore, 93, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on August 30, 2020, at his home.
Born in Green Forest, Arkansas, on July 30, 1927, he was the son of Willie Barchy Moore and Sylvia (Middaugh) Moore. Mack proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. He went on to work within the Aerodynamics Team at NASA for many years before retiring. Mack was a lifelong member of the Freemasons and was a Master Mason, the highest rank that can be earned. He loved to tinker and work with his hands, and even volunteered at a thrift store where he was known as their go-to “fixer.” Mack also loved to travel with his wife, Jackie, and particularly enjoyed going on cruises. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Sylvia Moore; his loving wife of 32 years, Jackie Moore; his identical twin brother, Myerl Moore; his sister, Ruth Lynch; his daughter, Patricia Ann Joyce; and his son-in-law, Steven O. Simmons, Sr.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathyrn Simmons of Beaumont; his stepsons, Tom Hussey and wife Nancy of New York, Warren Hussey and wife Heidi of Houston, and John Hussey and wife Kelly of Austin; his grandchildren, Steven O. Simmons, Jr. and wife Deidra, William Simmons, Davis Simmons and wife Kelly, Dexter Simmons and wife Angelica, Clark Simmons, and Ashley Simmons and wife Jacey; his eight great-grandchildren, one great-grandchild on the way, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
