Memories are funny things. It began with a weekend getaway at Camp Erdman. We had such fun with Mackenzie and Saxton (and their wonderful parents, too). My girls, Nyah and Aviah, had a blast dodging the ball in some odd game I can't remember the name to. Strange little thing to remember, but one morning Mackenzie didn't show up to the morning meal. We asked if she was ok, only to learn she had had an unhappy meeting with one of Oahu's least favorite creatures….a centipede had dropped from the ceiling and landed on her….aaaahhhggg! I met her again when my girls began going to American Heritage Girls. Mackenzie and her mother were there, both with their beautiful smiles. We were so excited to be able to keep in touch with this fun loving family we had met at Camp Erdman. Even though they moved off Oahu, the Lord has kept them in our hearts and prayers. It is amazing how God can connect us. Mackenzie and her family have meant a great deal to us through the last few years since we met. Though we really only met each other for one fun weekend of rope climbing and ball dodging, life has connected our hearts to yours. Thank you Mackenzie for the beauty you graced us with during the short time we knew you.

When Mackenzie and family traveled to China for Saxton's Make-A-Wish trip, she brought back beautiful bracelets for a few of her closest friends. My daughter, Maggie, wore her bracelet yesterday to the memorial service at St. Luke. She will always cherish her special gift just as she cherished their special friendship. Mackenzie was as beautiful inside as she was on the outside.

Mackenzie encouraged our daughter Mackenzie to take up competitive swimming to help with recovery after a terrible leg injury. Mackenzie Crump went with her to practices, encouraged her to keep working, and supported her as she learned the swim strokes. Her actions really helped rebuild our Mackenzie's confidence. Now our Mackenzie swims on her school swim team and is fully recovered from her injury. We will always remember Mackenzie as an encourager and a positive voice to our Mackenzie in a time of great need. Much Love, The Koon Family

I taught Mack Algebra her 8th grade year at St. Luke. She was a great student! I have a rule in class that you are allowed to have food in class if you bring enough for everyone. It seemed that every few weeks Mack would bring in cookies or brownies. When I remember Mack, I will always think of her genrous and sweet spirit.
