Madelene Clark Neel

Madelene Clark Neel, 83, lifelong resident of Mauriceville passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday January 29, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Mauriceville. Officiating will be Reverend Kevin Brown. Interment will follow at Neel Cemetery in Newton.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Mrs. Neel was born March 20, 1927 in Orange to Fad Howard and Ivy Ratcliff Clark. She was a homemaker who loved her family and cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Mauriceville and loved to paint.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J. Lee Roy Neel and sisters, Dorthy Mae Peco and Elnora Schexnayder.
Those left to cherish her memory is her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly Neel and Doug McWhirter of Mauriceville; son and daughter-in-law, Lee Roy and Alice Neel of Newton; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Gene Clark of Gist and Herman Wade Clark of Bleakwood.
The family of Mrs. Neel would like to extend a very special thank you to Joan Williams and the staff at Answered Prayers for the love and care that was shown to their mother during her stay there.
