Madeline Rose Kirby

October 19, 1922 — March 16, 2009

Madeline Rose Kirby, 86, of Wylie, formerly of Bridge City, peacefully ended her journey through life on March 16, 2009.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., March 21, 2009 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Paul Zoch of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
Madeline was born on October 19, 1922 in Titusville, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Andrew J. and Edith Burkholder Laughery. She was a homemaker, leader of the Camp Fire Girls and participated in many church related activities. Most of all, she enjoyed the company of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charles J. Kirby.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Prudence Kling of Wylie, Judy Brown of Rockwall, Edith Poje of Kingwood, Dorothy Kirby of Houston; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, David Laughery of Zavalla; and sister, Bertha Whelply of Houston.
Serving as Pallbearers are Kevin Kling, Tim Brown, Michael Poje, Coy Thibodeaux, Dan Oefner, Paul Osborn and Tony Dale. Honorary Pallbearer is Matt Brown.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church in Bridge City.
