Madie Wilson Harper, 87, of Orange, Texas died Sunday, June 27, 2010, at the Baptist Hospital in Orange.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at Evergreen Cemetery in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Tom Stephenson.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Farmington, New Mexico on March 30, 1923, Madie was the daughter of Virgie Mae Pendergrass and William Eugene Wilson. She graduated from Kilgore High School and attended Kilgore Junior College for a short time. Madie has been a resident of Orange since 1941, and she was involved in the Local PTA, serving as a past president.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Harper; parents, William Eugene Wilson and Virgie Wilson Brady; step-father, Bernard Brady; and sister, Doris Cooper.
Madie is survived by her sons, Lonnie Gene Harper and wife Norma of Orange, Richard Harper, also of Orange; grandchildren, Phyllis Ancelot, Michael Harper, Pam Bowman, and Troy Harper; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Kelsey, and Kaylee Ancelot, Jordan Harper, Michael and Maddie Harper, and Sydney Bowman.
She is also survived by her sisters, Diane Pinder, Frances Dyson, and Billie Gresham.
