Margie Black Conner, 91, of Lumberton, passed away on April 15, 2018, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Silsbee.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm-8:00pm, Wednesday at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.
Born in Westlake, Louisiana, on January 7, 1927, she was the daughter of Walter Madeley and Lula (Graham) Madeley. Margie was a graduate of Vidor High School. After moving around with her family often they settled in Lumberton in 1954. Margie was a hard worker who liked to sew and to crochet. She loved her 6 grandsons tremendously. She was a member of Big Thicket Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Edward Black and her second husband, Tommie Leo Conner.
She is survived by her children, Robert Earl Black and wife, JoAnn of Lumberton and Kathy Hufstetler and husband, Jimmy of Zavalla; 6 grandsons, Jason, Clint and Jake Hufstetler, Kevin, Tracy, and James Black; 10 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be her 6 grandsons, Jason Hufstetler, Clint Hufstetler, Jake Hufstetler, Kevin Black, Tracy Black, and James Black.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Big Thicket Baptist Church, 6123 FM 420 Rd., Kountze, Texas 77625.
