Maria Antonia Carbajal, 58, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on August 29, 2024, in Beaumont, Texas.

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm, Saturday, September 7, 2024, at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica located at 700 Jefferson St, Beaumont, Texas, 77701. 

A visitation will be held in honor of Maria on September 7, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.

Born on October 30, 1965, in Santa Catarina, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, she was the daughter of Nestor Torres and Maria Paola Canela. Throughout her life, Maria was known for her passion for cooking and gardening, hobbies that reflected her nurturing spirit. She delighted in sharing her culinary creations with family and friends, often bringing them together around her table for joyous gatherings filled with laughter and love. Her garden, a testament to her green thumb, was a sanctuary where she found solace and inspiration.

Maria was not just a talented cook and gardener; she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her deep love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life. She dedicated herself to nurturing and supporting her loved ones, always putting their needs above her own. Maria’s legacy will live on through the countless cherished memories she created with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Nestor Torres and Maria Paola Canela; and brother, Marcelino Torres.

She is survived by her husband, Vicente Carbajal; her daughters, Norma Avalos and husband Rafael and Brenda Chun; her grandchildren, Cindy Chun, Viviana Avalos, Simon Avalos, Noah Ordoyne, Emma Ordoyne, and Rafael Avalos Jr.; her siblings, Alfredo Torres, Revcca Cuellar, Carmen Torres, and Adela Torres; her nephews, Elroy Torres and Javier Torres.
