Maria Sanchez

September 2, 1923 — November 29, 2014

Maria Luisa Sanchez peacefully united with Our Lord on November 28, 2014 at the age of 91 in Beaumont, Texas where she resided. She was one of 5 children born to the late Marciano Guerrero and Refujio Lerma. She was born on September 2, 1923 in Matamoros Tamaulipas, Mexico. She was the beloved wife of Lorenzo Perez Sanchez, Sr. for over 37 years. Those who were blessed to know her knew that she was a very loving, faithful, forgiving, and courageous wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Maria (Mama Sanchez) was a member of Cristo Rey Catholic Church. She was very involved in the Catholic Community as she dedicated her life to her family and the Catholic faith. One of her duties as Catholic was to organize a St. Joseph Alter every year for her family and friends. She welcomed anyone and everyone to her St. Joseph Alter. Her grandchildren will forever remember the small play she had them perform at the Alter. She started having St. Joseph Alters in 1966 when her son, Emilio Sanchez, Sr. enlisted in the army and has never skipped a year since.

Sra. Sanchez will be remembered by the great love she has had for her family. She taught her children the importance of faith and unconditional love. She is greatly loved and will forever be remembered by her family and friends not only through the memories of our time together but also through her teachings of her faith. She will truly be missed by all her loved ones left behind. May she have peace in her new life with the Lord.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo Perez Sanchez, Sr., her daughter, Dora Sanchez, her sons, Joey Sanchez and Emilio Sanchez, Sr.

She is survived by her son Marciano Antonio Guerrero, Sr. (Elena), Virginia Escamilla (Jesus), Richard Sanchez, Sr. (Diana), Enrique Sanchez, Sr. (Judy), Dora Sanchez, Maria Luisa Rodriguez (Edmundo Jose), Hector Sanchez, Sr. (Juanita), Juan Antonio Sanchez, Soccorro Sanchez, Alice Alfaro, Dolores Garcia (Raul, Sr.), Francisco Sanchez (Angelina), Jesus Sanchez, and nephew Luis Carmona (Myra). Step children Lorenzo Sanchez, Jr. (Gloria), Cecilia Torres, and Martha Ayala. She has 44 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren.

Rest in Peace Grandma. You will always be loved and remembered. We Love you!
