Marilyn Miller

September 27, 1929 — November 13, 2008

Marilyn Miller, 79, of Beaumont, died Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth. She was born September 27, 1929 and was a graduate of Beaumont High School and Chenier Business College. A secretary for 10 years, she retired to become a homemaker.
While her daughter was growing up, she spent many happy years working in the PTA. She served as President of the Edwards Elementary and Bowie Junior High PTAs before becoming a member of the French High School PTA.
Marilyn was a faithful Methodist and member of the congregation of North End Methodist and Wesley United Methodist Churches. In years past, she served as a Children's Sunday School Teacher, MYF Counselor, Church Bus Reservations Clerk, Some Other Place Volunteer and Communion Steward. She currently was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class and the Circuit Rider assembly group.
Her husband of 50 years, Herman W. Miller, Jr., preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Miller of Beaumont; aunt, Joyce Liles of Westlake, LA.; great nieces, Peggy Ramage of Austin, and Patty Perkins of LaRue, TX; great-nephew, Charles Wingate of Houston; cousin, Betty McDuffie of Houston and Marilyn's precious cats.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 17, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel with the Reverends Robert Besser, Elvis Davis and Mark Bunch officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Douglas Canant, A.J. Hawthorne, Ward McCurtain, Richard Hebert, Hoyt Simmons and John Everitt. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Neff and Charles Etheridge.
Marilyn's family would like to thank her caregivers Beatrice Brown, Kewpie Comeaux, Sherrol Gaspard and Lisa Isaac for their compassion and care during this difficult time as well as all of her friends for the flowers, cards, visits and prayers.
Marilyn's kind heart and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
