Marjorie Elizabeth Billie Ann McNeill Foote passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2011 in Sugar Land, Texas, from a brief illness. She had just celebrated her 99th birthday on July 31st, being born in the year of 1912. She lived a good, long life and touched the lives of many.
Elizabeth was born in Orange, Texas to Ellece Sholars McNeill and William Austin McNeill, on July 31, 1912, at 7:30 PM. She was an only child. She grew up with many relatives in the home of Judge Orin Ransom Sholars, longtime resident of Orange, Texas. Elizabeth was graduated from Orange High School in 1928, and then attended Baylor University for a semester.
She was married in 1981 to Kenneth H. Foote until he passed away in 1996. She lived in Beaumont, New Braunfels, Huntsville, Harlingen, all in the state of Texas. Her later years were spent in the Houston area. She had various jobs throughout her life, including being an X-ray Technician during World War II. She also was an avid golfer.
She is survived by seven second cousins; Susan Hall, Sarah Hall, Sandra Hall, David S. Wise, William A. Wise, Ann Wise Tucker, and Kay Wise McKay.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken, her mother, Ellie, and her father William, four first cousins, Ruth Colbert, and George E. Colbert, Jean Sholars Hall, and Beth Sholars Wise.
The graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011, at Evergreen Cemetery in Orange, Texas.
The family would like to thank the many caregivers that Billie had in her later years. They were a blessing to her and her family.
