Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Weaver, 85, passed away quietly on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at Calder Woods in Beaumont, Texas. She was born October 12, 1927, in Beaumont to Ethel V. Normand and Andrew Joseph Alexander.
She had just celebrated 65 years of marriage to the love of her life, Emil L. Weaver. Together they had three children. They loved to dance and were in the old Caper Dance Club where they served on several committees together and many other social committees in Beaumont. They also loved to travel and attend the Beaumont Symphony. Betty was always a delight to be with and we will miss that beautiful smile and her beautiful blue eyes.
Betty is survived by her husband, Emil L. Weaver; son, Dr. Richard Weaver, and his wife, Sherry, of Beaumont; daughter, Brenda Carter, and her husband, James, of Friendswood; and daughter, Sandra Smith, and her husband, Howard, of Beaumont; six grandchildren, Christopher Forster, and his wife, Lorena, Jamie Carter, Emily Forster, Chase Anderson, Amanda Bielamowicz, and her husband, Brian, Kristin Smith, and two great-grandchildren, Kaci Hathaway and Addison Bielamowicz. She is also survived by her brother, Robert C. Alexander, and his wife JoAnn, and sister-in-law, Marie Weaver.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Alexander.
A gathering of Mrs. Weaver’s family and friends will be at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont on Monday, October 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. A celebration of her life will be Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home on 11th Street in Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
