Mary Alice Brown, 87, passed away on February 5, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Orange, Texas, on January 12, 1931, she was the daughter of Lorene and Stafford Peveto. Mary Alice lived in Orange all of her life and worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone until retiring in 1993 with 26 years of service. Mary Alice loved working in her yard and planting flowers. She will be especially remembered for the love she had for her family and friends. She touched many lives with her caring and kind heart.
Survivors include her son, Jim Brown and wife Janet; daughter, Rhonda Brown; daughter-in-law, Cathy Brown; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Lorene and Stafford; husband, James “PeeWee” Brown; son, Gil Brown; daughter, Becky Brown; granddaughter, Rachel Brown; and her grandson, Jesse Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Jeff Bell. Burial will follow the service at Bland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Serving as pallbearers will be Payton Brown, Raymond Henderson, Trea Henderson, Paul Peveto, Bill Peveto, and Ron Griggs.
