Mary Ellen Ener, 81, of Bridge City, passed away on November 25, 2021 at the Medical Center of South East Texas.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am, Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Bridge City. Officiating will be Father Michael Strother. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00pm, Monday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. A Rosary will be held at 7:00pm, Monday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in San Diego, California, on September 15, 1940. She was the daughter of Edward J. Hale, Sr. and Thelma U. Beadle. She was a devoted member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Orange, as well as the Third Age Group. She and her husband actively attended all indoor sports games in support of Bridge City Schools. She was an avid animal lover and could often be found outdoors in her garden and feeding birds. She thoroughly enjoyed puzzle books and spending time with her family. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, always putting her family first. She is deeply loved and missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Hale Sr. and Thelma Beadle; her husband, Ardice Ray Ener; her brother, Edward James Hale; and her grandson Kyle Ener.
She is survived by her children, Randall Scott Ener and Donna Lynn of Bridge City, Ronald Wayne Ener of Bridge City, Ardice Clay Ener and Stacia of Bridge City, and Pamela Ann Herndon and Clay of Orange; her 13 grandchildren; and her 7 great-grandchildren including one on the way.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Ener, Blake Holst, Chase Herndon, Chase Peacock, Alyssa Herndon, and Ryan Ener. Honorary pallbearers are Malori Thibodeaux, Haley Herring, Dylan Herndon, Chris Bell, Lacie Ener, and Douglas Ener.
