Mary Alice Flores, 88, of Port Arthur passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024 at her home.
Mary was born on April 26, 1936 in Port Arthur, Texas to parents Frank Collazo Sr. and Antonia (Reyes) Collazo. She was aa lifelong resident of Port Arthur and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur. Alice was very active with her church; she was a youth minister, a member of the choir, she taught CCD and she was a member of the Damas Guadalupanas. She loved spending time with her family who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Antonia Collazo Sr., her siblings, Frank Collazo Jr., Richard Collazo, Geronimo “Jerry” Collazo and Manuel Collazo.
Alice is survived by her husband, Gregorio Flores of Port Arthur, her son, Gregory Flores of Austin, her daughter, Blanca Mendoza and her husband, Corey of Nederland, her son, Steve Flores and his wife, Rebekah of Port Arthur, her brother, Jessie Collazo and her sister, Mary Jessica “Susie” Villareal. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, KoriAnn Mendoza, Matthew Mendoza, Alex Flores and Tristan Flores.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves, with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
