Mary Ruth Brown Frazier
Mary Ruth Brown Frazier, 83, of Orange, Texas, passed away on December 30, 2023, peacefully at home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Chaplain Kevin Trinkle. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will begin prior to the service at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on April 6, 1940, she was the daughter of William Pate Brown, Jr. and Willie Pearl (Thibodeaux) Brown. Mary was a long-time member of Wesley United Methodist Church and actively participated in church activities and felt a deep connection with fellow members. She worked for Orange County for 37 years and was highly respected for her efficiency and professionalism. Mary was a passionate family person. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and held them close to her heart. Known affectionately as "Memaw" or "Aunt sis," her warm and loving presence brought joy to every family gathering. She had a great passion for collecting antiques and often enjoyed exploring antique stores and estate sales in search of unique pieces. Traveling was another one of Mary's cherished pastimes. Mary was a devoted animal lover. She wholeheartedly believed in adopting pets from shelters to provide them with a loving home. Mary’s warm smile, friendly nature, and unwavering love for her family will forever be remembered and will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and William Brown Jr.; sister, Jennifer Burleigh; and nephew, Michael Brown.
She is survived by her son, Chuck Frazier and wife, Marnie; grandchildren, Jessica Crowell and husband, Ryan, Jade Bloodworth and husband, Bill, Bucky Thomas and wife, Robin; great grandchildren, Harper Crowell, Haylinn Crowell, Kaden Hearn, Kellan Hearn, Kendyl Thomas, and Karlie Thomas; siblings, Joan Plsek, Pete Brown, and B.B. Brown; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Burleigh, Casey Burleigh, Troy Trawhon, Steven Pickering, Ryan Crowell, and Bucky Thomas.
