Mary Louise Hollabaugh

January 7, 1923 — August 22, 2013

Mary Louise Hollabaugh was born 7 January 1923 in Quinton, Pittsburg County, Oklahoma to Mary (Fisher) Hollabaugh and Zoe Jackson Hollabaugh, Sr. The family moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma a year and a half later and then to Wichita Kansas in 1927. She graduated from Wichita High School North in the spring of 1941 and went to University of Kansas in the fall. There she belonged to the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, Civil Air Patrol and got her civilian pilots license before graduation in 1945. She graduated from the St. Joseph Hospitals School of Medical Technology in the fall of 1946. In 1947, she worked in Houston for about three months before moving to Port Arthur, Texas and going to work for E.I. DuPont at their Sabine River Works in Orange in their medical division where she worked for 35 years.

She moved to Orange, Texas in 1953 and belonged to the Orange Community Players for over 30 years off stage. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for a while and later the Orange Golden K Kiwanis.

She went to Europe twice once to visit the village in Winterberg where her maternal grandfather had been from.

Along with her cousin she went many places in the U.S. to find her genealogy and meeting many interesting people and seeing many interesting places.

Through these trips and with the help of micro film at the local Morman family history center, traced one line of her family back to the late 1500’s.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 26, 2013, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. Serving as Pallbearers will be Bryan Rasberry, Bryan Rasberry, Jr., Keith Michael Rasberry, Keith Rasberry, Gabriel Murillo and Christopher Rasberry. Honorary Pallbearer will be Kerry Caillovet

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
