Mary Louise Williams Simons, 77, of Beaumont passed away March 1, 2013. Mrs. Simons was born June 12, 1935 in Austin, Texas to Pat and Ruby Iona Pogue Williams. A graveside service will be held Monday, March 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Bill Morgan officiating.
Surviving Mrs. Simons are three daughters, Carrie Janette Rodgers and her husband, Bob, of Fredericksburg, TX, Patricia Lynn Varley and her husband, Jerry, of Louisiana, and Sherry Louise Nero and her husband, Arthur, of Beaumont, TX. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Richard Nero and his wife, Monica, John Nero, Michael Nero, Jacqueline Nero, Jennifer Murphy, Jessica Seely and her husband, Ryan, and Justin Varley; 1 great-grandchild, Isabel Nero; and 2 brothers, Jesse Williams and George Williams. Also surviving her are many nieces and nephews and others who loved her.
Predeceasing her was the love of her life, her husband of 40 years, J. R. Simons.
Mrs. Simons had a keen interest in genealogy that she shared with many people. She loved helping others research their family history. She was also very involved with and a member of the Daughters of the American Republic and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. In between these tasks she loved crocheting and collecting dolls.
Mrs. Simons was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church where her presence will be missed.
