Mary Lou Murphy, 92, of Orange, Texas, passed away on April 23, 2024, at Golden Years Assisted Living in Orange. 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 29, 2024, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange, Texas. 

Born in Ged, Louisiana, on July 13, 1931, she was the daughter of Ira Guidry and Alta (Chesson) Guidry. Mary found delight gardening and spending time outdoors, and could be often found in the comfort of her swing reading. Alongside her husband Aaron, the pair enjoyed traveling together and square dancing. Mary will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her gentle spirit and warm heart. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness and love.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Aaron Lynn Murphy, her parents Ira and Alta Guidry, her sister Claire Brewer, and her brother Clarence Guidon.

She is survived by her son Gary Murphy and his wife Mylinda, her daughter Lisa Gail Murphy, grandchildren Michael Murphy and his wife Dr. Christine, great-grandchildren Andrew and Ella, as well as her niece Susan Woodard.
