Mary Olena Harmon Burton

Mary Olena Harmon Burton, 91, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2008, in Orange. She was born in Orange, Texas. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Preston Burton Sr., and son, Preston Burton Jr. She is survived by her only daughter Patsy Gail Miller; five Grandchildren; six Great-Grandchildren; and two to deliver in December. Her childhood was in Orangefield and Orange. She was a resident of Orange all of her life. Mary retired from Old First Orange Baptist Church after 27 years of faithful service on staff in 1989. When the church door was open she was there. Her family and friends fondly remember how she loved to send cards. Mary's love for God was very apparent to all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday October 20, at Old First Orange Baptist Church, 7925 IH 10 East. Visitation will be Sunday October 19 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Old First Orange Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home. The family wishes to have contributions designated to the Old First Orange Baptist Church building fund at 7925 I-H 10 East, Orange, TX 77630, in lieu of flowers.
