Mary Jo Lista, 79, of Orangefield, died Wednesday July 18, 2007.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 21, 2007, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Forrest Wood of First Baptist Church in Orangefield.
Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday, at Claybar Funeral Home.
Mary Jo was born on April 22, 1928, in Shelbyville. She was the daughter of Joe H. and Ella Mae Owens George. Mrs. Lista retired from Owen- Illinois and also from DuPont. She worked at Sam?s for 12 years; she and her husband owned Hearts and Flowers Florist in Orange for several years. She loved to paint, sew, and cook. She also loved to travel to see friends and family and was an avid reader and loved to write.
Mrs. Lista was also a member of First Baptist Church in Orangefield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Lista, Sr. and parents.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Connie Cox of Buna and Linda Matts and husband Floyd of Port Neches; sons, Jimmy Bennett and wife Louise of Elton, LA, Mike Bennett and wife Peggy, Robert Bennett all of Pasadena, and Pete Lista, Jr. and wife Lori of Orangefield.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and brother, David George of Nacogdoches.
