Matthew Alan Colvin

Matthew Alan Colvin, 43, passed away on December 24, 2024.

Born in Birmingham, Alabama on November 7, 1981, he was the son of Carmon Colvin and Billie Fike Colvin. An intelligent, strong, and outgoing man, Matthew was known for his generosity and loving heart. He truly never met a stranger, and everyone who crossed his path loved him.

Matthew was very proud of Southstar Heating & Air Conditioning, the small business he operated for almost 8 years. He took great pride in being a hard worker and taking care of customers. In his free time he enjoyed working out at the local gym, gardening, and flying. He was especially proud of his airplane. Flying was a hobby that brought him great happiness. He was an exceptionally good pilot and loved watching sunsets from up in the air.

His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, reflecting the warmth and kindness he shared with the world. Matthew will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his Uncles, Billy Colvin, Bobby Wayne Colvin, and Jim Schindler. Grandparents, Floyd Carmon Colvin, Mary Stinson Colvin, William L Fike, and Julia Martin Fike.

Billie, I’m so very sorry to hear of Matthew’s passing. My heart goes out to you and Carmon and family. I did not realize Matthew and Justin were just a few days apart. God Bless you all in your healing. Love you, Susan

I met Matt back in the summer of 2022, He came by one day and wanted to buy his materials and HVAC equipment for his business from me here at Coburn's in Beaumont. We became friends that instant as soon as I greeted him when he walked in the door. I sure enjoyed talking and the conversations we had together. I will miss him dearly and I will always remember time we got to share. Prayers to his family and friends. I sure will miss you my friend, your just a thought away!

My heart is broken. Matthew was a blessing to our lives - when he moved to Texas, he was welcomed with open arms. He loved Cortney’s kids as if they were his own - especially our Liam - he definitely love that man . Matthew and I had plans to flip houses together after we finished the remodel repairs on mine. We were both looking forward to this new endeavor. Best son-in - law ever!! Love you more! Fly high my friend. We will miss you every day!

Colvin Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I never had the pleasure of meeting Matthew in person but enjoyed times speaking with him by phone on more than one occasion. His willingness to spend time talking me through my HVAC issues painted a clear picture of someone who took pride in helping others. I would have liked to get to know him, I believe someday I will. My thoughts are with you all.

In a weird way I felt like I knew Matthew. His beautiful flying videos were a sense of peacefulness that I’m sure we all need. I’m so grateful to have been in that tiny part of his life. Fly high and free Matthew. 🙏🏻

I didn't know him personally but only through pictures that Cortney posted. He was sitting with my great great neice and nephews reading the Bible. Also in his plane with them. They seemed to love him very much. Praying for all of his family and extended family.
