Born in Beaumont, Texas on November 27, 1964, raised in Bridge City, Texas, Matt was a generous, beloved friend to many, an avid fisherman and a loving husband, father, son and brother. Matt enjoyed amusing his co-workers at Sabine River Authority for over 27 years. He will be sorely missed by all who loved him.

Matt is survived by his wife of 12 years, Susan Montgomery Rivette of Orange; daughter Katrina Rivette of San Jose, California; parents Dudley and Anna Merendino Rivette of Canyon Lake, Texas; sister Rebecca Rivette Adams of Spring, Texas; and brother, Zachary Rivette of Austin, Texas.

Matt loved working his bamboo gardens when he was not out on his boat looking for fish. He even brought this love of fish home with him by building a koi pond in his yard and a huge 170-gallon fish tank inside. Matt we love you and hope the fish are biting in heaven. You will live in our memories forever!
