Maureen “Sis” Lormand Keogh
Maureen “Sis” Lormand Keogh, 94, of Cypress, Texas, passed away on August 16, 2024, at Cypress Assisted Living.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 23, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on September 21,1929, she was the daughter of Matiol Lormand and Winnie (Fontenot) Lormand. Maureen’s career in clerical work with the County Clerk’s Office provided her with a sense of purpose, but it was her profound devotion to her family that truly defined her legacy. Known affectionately as "Nanny B" and "Maw Maw," she radiated love and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. From teaching twirling for many years to sharing her passion for coloring, she embraced her hobbies with the same zest for life that characterized her personality. Maureen was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Bridge City, embodying the spirit of community and faith throughout her life. Her proudest accomplishments were the countless memories created with her loved ones, forging connections that spanned generations. She took immense joy in watching her family grow, celebrating their achievements and offering unwavering support. Maureen was a woman whose warmth and love enveloped everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Matiol and Winnie Lormand; her husband, Michael Keogh, Sr.; and her daughter-in-law, Carol Keogh.
She is survived by her beloved sons, Michael Keogh, Jr. and Daniel Martin Keogh, and his wife, Drue. The joy of her life continued with grandchildren Shawn Keogh, Ryan Keogh and his wife Stacey, Allison Keogh, Ursula Steckling and her husband Allen, and Erin Benjamin Keogh and his wife Casie. Maureen was also the proud great-grandmother of Amara, Edira, Benjamin, Elizabeth, James, Bo, Paisley, Shelby Jo, and Kase.
