Mavis Honeycutt Timmons, 86, died Wednesday, January 21, 2009, in Rockledge, Florida.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with interment to follow at Doyle Cemetery in Starks, Louisiana. Visitation will also be held Saturday at the funeral home from 11:00 am to time of service.

Mrs. Timmons was born in Starks, Louisiana to Gus and Clarabelle Clark Honeycutt. She worked as a telephone operator in Orange during WWII where she met and married Don Timmons in 1946. She spent 20 years as a Red Cross Gray Lady at Orange Baptist Hospital and was a member of Federally Employed Women. She moved to Brevard County from Orange in 1997 to live near her daughter. Mrs. Timmons loved to read, watch sports of any kind, and travel.

Mrs. Timmons is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don. She is survived by her daughter, Clara Anderson and husband, Delwyn of Rockledge, Florida; son, George Timmons and wife, Denise of Bergenfield, New Jersey; brother, Gene Honeycutt and wife, Ruby, sister, Shirley Honeycutt Garon and husband, Jack, and sister-in-law, Helen; grandchildren, Wendy Delaney of Georgia, Shannon Anderson Melbourne of Florida, Brian Timmons and wife, Megan and Jillian Myers and husband, Jonathan of New Jersey; great grandchildren Connor, Samantha, and Luke Delaney, Shannon Michelle Anderson, Kaleigh, Alanna, and Declan Timmons, and Isabella Myers.
