Mavis Ann Yellott Seal, 83, of Orange died April 1, 2022, at her home.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 8, 2022, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with Rev Michael Inman and Rev Amy Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Ida Wilson Cemetery.
Mavis was born August 8,1938 in DeQuincy, Louisiana to W.R. and Nola Yellott. Graduating as valedictorian of her Little Cypress High School class after only three years, Mavis attended TCU in Fort Worth where she earned a degree in secondary mathematics education. She spent many years teaching math at Little Cypress High School and Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School. Mavis was a member of Little Cypress Baptist Church for over 40 years. Cooking and entertaining large groups of family and friends brought her great joy. Mavis was also very creative and enjoyed making things for others. Many family and friends have ceramic pieces or yard decorations her and husband Bill made, quilts she pieced and quilted, or throws she crocheted.
Mavis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years Bill Seal, sisters, Mary Manley and Adele Murphy, sister-in-law, Betty Stanfield, and brother-in-law, Danny Seal..
She is survived by daughters Debbie Inman and husband Ron of Maypearl, Diana Perry and husband Greg of Mauriceville, Donna Beadle and husband Ernest of Orange, and son Bill Seal of Beaumont; Grandchildren Alison Hernandez and husband Lupe of Waxahachie, Warren Beadle and wife Emily of Phoenix, Arizona, Jonathan Inman and wife Rebekah of McKinney, Michael Inman and wife Josie of Graham, Steven Perry and wife Stori of Houston, Martin Beadle and wife Kenedie of Orange, Brandon Perry of Dallas, and Anna Beadle of Orange; Great-grandchildren Makenzie Hernandez, Ava Hernandez, Olivia Inman, and Phoebe Inman.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
