Max Harold Neely, Jr., 61, of Orange, passed away on December 11, 2020 at his home in Orange.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Jeff Bell. A private graveside service will be held after services.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., prior to the service, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange
Born in Beaumont, Texas, on January 21, 1959, he was the son of Maxie Harold Neely, Sr. and Betty (Baldwin) Neely. Max worked as a project manager for many years. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed rebuilding classic vehicles, scuba diving, gardening, and taking care of his land especially his ducks and chickens. Max was also a licensed commercial pilot and was very proud of his accomplishment. As a young boy he loved motorcycles and boats and always wanted to go sailing. He adored his family most of all and was a loving son, husband, father, and PaPa to his grandson, Jagger. Max left an impact on many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kim Neely; parents, Maxie and Betty Neely; children, Heith Smith and wife Jennifer of Bridge City and Danielle Kurtz of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchild, Jagger Smith; fur-baby, Chelsea siblings, Dana Hickman and husband Randy of Merryville, Louisiana, Kelly Neely and wife Dana of Orangefield, Rachel Bland and husband Terry of Bridge City, Kandi Venza and husband Ronnie of Bridge City, and Randi Frazee and husband Matt of Bridge City; along with numerous nieces and nephews & other loving family and friends.
