Mayme Belle Retherford Mitchell

Mayme Belle Retherford Mitchell, 96, of Orange, Texas, passed away on October 7, 2024, at Focused Care in Orange. 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Bleakwood Cemetery in Bleakwood, Texas.  

Mayme Belle Retherford Mitchell was born on January 10, 1928, in Pineland, Texas, to Richard Thomas Retherford and Beulah Mae Retherford. She later married Cecil B. Mitchell. She had three children. Son, Kenneth; daughters, Sandra and Cecilia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Beulah Retherford; sisters, LaRue Collier and Maryann Coon; brothers, Charles, Jean, and T.R. Retherford; and son, Kenneth Hughes.

 She is survived by her, daughters, Sandra (Larry) and Cecilia Bickham; grandchildren, Maliwan from Thiland, Maggie Briscoe (Guy) from Louisiana, Audra (Lonnie) Prejean from Orange, Texas, James (Kayla) Casey from Kirbyville, Texas, Richard Casey from Orange, Texas, Lisa Casey from Norman, Oklahoma, Charles (JoAnn) Bickham, from Vidor, Texas, and Troy Bickham from Vidor, Texas; a few great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
