A celebration of the life of Melba D. Long, 97, of Beaumont will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Ridgewood Church of Christ. Beginning with a service of remembrance at 2:30 p.m., the celebration will continue with a reception and time of fellowship until 4:30 p.m.
Melba was born December 27, 1916 in Horatio, Arkansas and went to be with her Lord on Friday, August 15, 2014. She was a member of the Ridgewood Church of Christ and worked in the family furniture store in Orange.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Odos D. Long; mother, Ester DeShazo; father and step-mother, Walter and Nellie DeShazo; son, Coy Long; sisters, Mazie LeLeux, Maxine Gray, Mona Pryor; and brother, Mitchell DeShazo.
Those left to cherish her memory include; her children; Wes Long and wife, Twila of Houston, Reatha Barina and husband, Joe of Beaumont; grandchildren, Derrick Long and wife, Tamara, Scott Long and wife, Jennifer, Steven Long, Shelley Beech and husband, Nathan, Caleb Barina, Angela Lopez, and Tisha Wilhite and husband, Brent; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; siblings, Ray Sims of DeQueen, Arkansas, Arvin Sims of Crystal Beach, Wanda Kessner of Little Rock, Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00a.m., Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Millwee Cemetery in Horatio, Arkansas.
