Melissa Jessica Gomez, 41, of Orange, Texas, passed away on December 17, 2025, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Houma, Louisiana, on October 8, 1984, she was the daughter of Hilario Moreno and Armandina (Castaneda) Moreno. She was a dedicated receptionist at Baptist Hospital and proudly held several degrees from Lamar Orange. Melissa was known for her love of family and treasured moments spent with them, especially her beloved grandson, Santiago. She had a flair for making her home warm and vibrant, keeping it very clean and often going all out for holidays. Her personality shined through in her love for jewelry and getting her nails and eyelashes done. She enjoyed going on trips, camping out, and cherished her dog, Oakley. She will always be remembered for her love, laughter, and the joyous moments shared with her family and friends.
Melissa is preceded in death by her in-laws, Juan Gomez and Francisca Moreno.
Melissa is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Manuel Gomez; her parents, Hilario and Armandina Moreno; her sons, Manuel Gomez and his fiancée Gabriella, and Augustine Gomez; her daughters, Josalene Gomez and Kayla Gomez; her grandson, Manuel Santiago Gomez; her siblings, Maria Gomez and her husband Juan, Jaime Moreno, Francisco Moreno, Leticia Moreno, and Valentine Moreno and his wife Krystal; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Manuel Gomez, Manuel Gomez, Augustine Gomez, Valentine Moreno, Juan Gomez, Juan Gomez, Jaime Moreno, and Hilario Moreno.
