Melvin E. Schell

Melvin E. Schell, 88, of Orange, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013 in Orange.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2013 at First United Pentecostal Church of Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Gary P. Wheeler.

A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Port Arthur on March 21, 1925, Melvin was the son of Herbert M. and Essie (Pullin) Schell. He served in the United States Navy and later worked and retired for Texaco where he was a welder among many other titles throughout the years. Mr. Schell was a handy man and could build, fix or work on most anything that needed to be done.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Irma Cresswell and is survived by his wife, Diana Schell of Orange; sons, Randy Schell and wife, Joanie of Angel Fire, NM and Damien Moody of Denver, CO. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Christopher, Phillip, Jessica, Andrew and several others along with numerous great grandchildren.
