Michael August Cook

Michael August Cook, 51, of Beaumont, passed way on Friday, July 23, 2010. He was born June 23, 1959 in Beaumont, TX. He was a resident of Beaumont his entire life and was a graduate of Forest Park High School. After graduation, Mike worked for Exxon Mobil for his entire career and retired as a control room supervisor.
Mike was an outstanding athlete in high school and played both football and baseball. He continued his interest in sports and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. Mike also enjoyed fishing and being on the water. He also enjoyed country and western music and playing the guitar. He attended First United Methodist Church in Beaumont.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Danielle August Cook of Beaumont, who was the love of his life. He is also survived by his mother, Laura Weber Cook of Beaumont.
A gathering of Mike's family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont. Funeral services celebrating Mike's life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 30, 2010 at First United Methodist Church at 701 Calder in Beaumont. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park which is located at 4955 Pine St., Beaumont.
