Michael Ray Neel, 78, passed away on June 10, 2022, at his home surrounded by family.
Graveside services will be 4:00 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2022, at King Cemetery in Heartburg.
Michael was born in Orange, Texas, on May 7, 1944, he was the son of Jesse O. Neel and Frankie Opal Neel. He served in the United States Army and was very proud of his military service. Michael would typically spend his time visiting with good friends at the American Legion. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed a game a golf whenever he could. Michael was such a great man and will be truly missed by all his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Opal Neel; brother, Larry Neel; and sister, Ginny Bertrand.
He is survived by his daughters, Debra and husband Jake Elliott of Clarksville, Tennessee, Michelle Haney of Buna; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy Neel; as well as many close friends.

Mike was a sweet heart of a guy . we were friends until I moved away from Mauriceville briefly .once I returned I lost track of where he had moved ..Mike was a Genguine Soul. Loved by all that knew him . We will cross paths again dear friend . All my love and respect to Mike as well as the dear family and friends .
