Michael Dean Lewis, 64, of Palestine, Texas, and a former resident of Orange, died Monday, November 1, 2010, at his residence.
Friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2010, at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange. Officiating will be Pastor Keith Kniffin of Kingdom Living Cowboy Church in Poynor, Texas.
There will be no visitation.
Born in Orange, Texas on February 5, 1946, Mike was the son of Cecil Clarence Lewis and Dorothea Evelyn Lewis Alston. He served in the U.S. Marines during Vietnam and retired from American Airlines. Mike was a member of Kingdom Living Cowboy Church in Poynor, Texas, and a life member of Madison Lodge # 126 AF & AM in Orange. He was a 1964 graduate of Little Cypress High School and a 1989 graduate of University of New Mexico. Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Lewis; and brother, Ronnie Kenneth Lewis.
Mike is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joy Perry Lewis of Palestine; sons, Keith "Ty" Lewis of Frankston and Michael Scott Lewis of Jacksonville, Florida; and daughter, Misty Leigh Lewis DeWell of Watauga.
He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren, Ty Mitchell Lewis, Jacob Robert DeWell and twin grandsons, Sean Michael Lewis and Evan James Lewis; mother, Dorothy Lewis Alston and sister, Linda Brymer, both of Jacksonville, Florida.
