Mildred Brown Donnell

Mildred Martin Brown Donnell passed away Friday, October 22, 2010 at the age of 93. She was born October 17, 1917, in Nacogdoches, Texas, the eleventh of thirteen children of Levi and Nannie Martin. Becoming a Christian at an early age, she has served her Lord and Savior in many ways. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Devers after moving to the community in 1937. She later moved to Nome, Texas in 1964 and continued to serve as a leader in Sunday school, choir and fellowship at the First Baptist Church of Nome. Her smiling face and joyful spirit will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
She is survived by her sister Theodoshia "Dodie" Windham of Nacogdoches, her daughter Glynda Brown Arnold and husband Mike of Fort Worth, daughter Gloria Hollingsworth of Burleson, son Troy Linn Donnell of Fort Worth, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at Meadowlakes Retirement Community in North Richland Hills, Texas and Autumn Leaves of Keller, Texas for their loving care of Mildred over the last six years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at North Central Texas Chapter, 101 Summit Ave, Suite 300, Fort Worth, Texas 76102. Visitation will be held at Claybar Funeral Home in Beaumont on Sunday, October 24th from 6-8 PM. Services will be held at 10AM at the First Baptist Church of Nome on Monday, October 25th. Graveside services will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont, Texas.
