Minnie Ethel Powell, 100, of Lumberton, Texas, passed away on June 11, 2023, in Beaumont, Texas.

Born in Merryville, Louisiana, on March 21,1923, she was the daughter of Herman Leon Moses and Addie O. Moses. Minnie was hard working and loved her job working retail for The White House in Beaumont for 17 years. She married the love of her life James Powell January 8, 1940. Minnie spent a lot of her free time working in her yard, especially raking leaves, and spending time with her family. Minnie showed love and kindness wherever she could and was the sweetest, kindest person you could have ever known. She was truly loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband James Lee Powell Sr.; her parents Herman Leon Moses and Addie O. Moses; and her siblings Irene Moore and John Moses.

She is survived by her daughter Judy Tatum, of Lumberton, Texas; her sons Bruce Powell and wife Deborah, of Nederland, Texas, James Lee Powell Jr. and wife Lynda, of McKinney, Texas; her grandchildren Molly Myers, Kelly McCollum, James Powell, Jennifer Powell, Allison Tretner, Suzanne Shirley, and Holly Odom; her great-grandchildren Bryleigh Myers, Kelby Myers, Keagan Standley, Aaron Powell, MacKenzie Shirley, Lucas Shirley, Jillian Odom, Julliette Odom, and Madeleine Odom; and her great-great-grandchildren Adam Shirley and Noah Shirley.
