Montie E. Moran

August 3, 1922 — November 4, 2014

Montie E. Moran of Orange, Texas lived a wonderful life of 92 years that ended in his sleep November 4, 2014.
That life began August 3rd, 1922 in Quanah, Texas as the little brother of Glenn to parents, Glenn Moran and Myrtle McCracken Moran. During the Great Depression, after withstanding and surviving the dustbowls of the 1930s, a WPA training camp got him off the farm and an eventual ticket to Orange at the Consolidated Steel Shipyards.
He served in the US Army during WWII as a combat engineer in the Philippines and the Pacific where he met his Australian war-bride, Lois Clark. They were inseparable lovers for 61 years. His memories are held closely by his family: children, Rae Moran and Rex Moran, and wife Cindy; grandchildren Zoe Moran and spouse Ron Bauer, Montie Claunch, Cameron Moran and wife Bethany, and Captain Randall Moran; and great grandchild Ronny Bauer; in addition, his beloved nephew, Glenn Moran and wife Jackie; Australian niece and nephew, Anita O’Toole and Mark Coleman; and close and dear family friend, Bonnie Rambo. His 33 year career at DuPont SRW led to many close and enduring friendships.
A gathering to recollect family, friendships and memories of Montie’s life will be held Friday, November 28, 2014 at noon at Montie’s home in Victory Garden. For more info contact Rex Moran at 713-875-8901 or rmoran@emc-hou.com
