Morie Shane “Nana” Whitmire, 50, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020, in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 23, 2020, at Cowboy Church in Beaumont, Texas. Officiating will be Pastor Kenny Miller of Cowboy Church on the Rock. Burial will follow at China Cemetery in China, Texas.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2020, at Claybar Kelley Watkins in Beaumont.
Born in Beaumont, Texas, on April 17, 1970, she was the daughter of Tommy Hidalgo and Opal (Schnitz) Herford. Shane enjoyed going to Monterey House and having a margarita, but most of all she loved riding her Harley with her husband, Gary. She and Gary traveled to many places such as Nashville, Tennessee, Memphis, Tennessee, Daytona, Florida, Sturgis, South Dakota, and West Texas. Shane was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Tommy Hidalgo and Opal (Schnitz) Herford; son, Mitchell Glenn Downs, and her granddaughter, Ella Wright.
She is survived by her husband; Gary Whitmire, children; Candis Wright (Doyle Fear) of China, Trey Wright (Eleni Prichard) of China, and Kassandra Fitzgerald of China; stepchildren, Gary Whitmire, III of China, Dillon Elmore (Rebekah Foyil) of China, Holly Ann Downs of Beaumont, Nikita Hartman (Brett) of Beaumont, and R.J. Downs of Beaumont; grandchildren, Hayden Cantrell, Harper Cantrell, River Fear, Treasure Wright, Faith Wright, Robert Prichard, Ziva Duhon, Zoe Duhon, Kemah Hartman, June Hartman, Ariella Hartman, Korina Potts, Kage Potts, Lilith Holland, Billy Foyil, Brayzon Foyil, Thelma Eleanor Hewitt, soon to be here; siblings, Robbie Martin (Lynn) of Beaumont, Jimbo Armentrout of Buna, Don Armentrout (Mary Nell) of Beaumont, Tommy Hidalgo, Jr. of China, Avant Armentrout (Tish) of Vidor, and Richard Ray Radicke of Seguin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Whitmire, Dillion Elmore, Joe Mike, John Schnitz, James Fruye, and Bobby Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Hidalgo, Jr., Martha Bott, Howard O’Michael, and Hayden Cantrell.
