Obituary
Murphy Joseph Vidalier, 87, of Orange, passed away on August 28, 2014, at Mid-Jefferson Hospital in Nederland.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Monday, September 1, 2014, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Joseph P. Daleo. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM, with a rosary at 6:00 PM, Sunday, August 31st, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Kaplan, Louisiana, on February 7, 1927, he was the son of Ferland Vidalier and Cecile Fredricks Vidalier. Murphy served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and had worked as a painter with Gipson Paint.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Annette Vidalier; daughters, Nada Simon and Debbie May; son, Calvin Dean May; brother, Slim Vidalier; sister Bell Hamner and grandson, David May.
He is survived by his sons, Ted Vidalier of Orange and David May of Bridge City; son-in-law, Ricky Simon of Orange; daughter-in-law, Becky May of Orange; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Vidalier, Keith Vidalier, Kameron Vidalier, Kaleb Vidalier, Shawn Wilson, and Ricky Simon.

My father, Buster Trussell, (age 94) has been trying to reach Murphy over the past months. Daddy was married to Fran Trussell who is Annette's sister. Murphy and Annette visited my parents many, many times over the years and Nada came some times. After Annette's death Murphy and my parents talked on the phone about 3-4 times a year. My sister, Jan, and I called Murphy in October 2013 to tell him that Momma died. Daddy always got a Christmas card and a birthday card from Murphy and they talked several times a year. Since Daddy could not reach anyone at any of the numbers he had I started a google search and started with funeral homes in Orange. We are very sorry to hear that he died. Murphy was a kind and sweet man. He made my Aunt Annette very happy and to see the four of them talking and laughing, grilling and of course drinking their beverages was such happy memories. I loved listening to Murphy talk. He was strong but gentle and truly one of the good guys! Donna Trussell Grubbs

Murphy could always be counted on to be at Mass on Saturday night. I gave him communion many Saturday. We will remember him as a gentlemen and loyal friend. Helen and Floyd Broussard
