Myrtle “Irene” Ellis, 90, of Orange, passed away on March 20, 2021, in Orange, Texas, in the comfort of her own home.
A private graveside service will be for immediate family only due to covid.
Born in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Nita Owens Collins. She was married to her loving husband, Burnice Ellis, for 28 years and they had two children, Chris and Robin before his death in February 1983. She was a dedicated, caring, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Irene is most remembered for her love of the beach, always having books on arm’s reach, enjoying her favorite Werther’s candy, and for never turning down a bowl of Blue Bell ice cream.
She’s survived by her son, Chris Ellis, and his wife, Maricela, of Kingwood; her daughter, Robin Ellis Lamprecht, and her husband (Irene’s second son) Tommy of Orange; her grandson, Brian Ellis, and his wife, Jennifer, of Sour Lake; her grandson, David Bryson of Kingwood, her granddaughter Ashlee Ellis Goeddertz and her husband Michael of Orangefield; her great grandchildren, Guy and Belle Ellis of Sour Lake, along with numerous, loving family members.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Lamprecht, Chris Ellis, Brian Ellis, and Michael Goeddertz.
