Nadine Bates Caperton, 87, passed away on May 19, 2008. She had resided in Vidor for the past seven years and previously in Wyoming, Kerrville, Kingsville and Riviera. She was born November 1, 1920 in Bauxite, AR to Harry and Lula Hebert and later adopted by Doyle and Lola Taul Bates.
She was a devoted mother and wife of William Douglas Caperton whom she married in 1939. She raised her children in the church and loved the Lord. She also loved to read and travel.
Mrs. Caperton was preceded in death by her husband, parents, seven brothers, three sisters, sons, William "Bill" Dexter Caperton and Doyle Dean Caperton, and two great-grandchildren, Kathleen Lois Nettle and William Nathan Sirman. Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Doris Jean Duke and husband, Jan Carroll, of Vidor and Patricia Neal Sirman and husband, William "Buddy" Franklin, of Natchez, MS; grandchildren, Samuel Boyd Sirman, Christopher David Sirman, Sheila Gail Nettle Leach, and Douglas Allen Sirman; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Nelda McQueen; brothers-in-law, Ernest Butler and wife Ruby and Bob Caperton and wife Joan; sister-in-law, Inez Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
