The Whiddon family lost a mother and prayer warrior last week. Nancy Ruth (Gantt) Whiddon died on November 11, 2023 at the age of 93, In Leander Texas.
Nancy will always be remembered as "Nanna" by her family. She was always talking about her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She loved for her family to send pictures to her internet picture frame and enjoyed each of us viewing the pictures when we visited. She was always more concerned with how her family was doing and their health than her own. She loved watching the Houston Astros, University of Texas football, Dallas Cowboys and the local Lago Vista football team and band. Nancy was a prayer warrior and an active member of North End Baptist Church most of her life where she and husband Tom led a young married class. The couples that were in that class still talk about the fond memories they have from that class.
Later in life she joined Round Mountain Baptist Church when she moved to Leander, Texas, there she helped with vacation bible school and other activities of the church. She was always an active member in church until her health failed her.
Nancy was an avid reader and loved serving people by working to serve others through lunch ministries and giving of her time and talents. She will be missed by family and friends but we know she now has a new home in heaven.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Thomas R. Whiddon, Jr., brother, Bill Gantt, grandson Stephen Whiddon, grand-daughter Destiny Whiddon and parents, N H (Jack) and Alice Ruth Gantt.
