Naomi Cromwell Cabe, 89, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on March 8, 2022, at, her home in Beaumont, Texas.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont. Officiating will be Rick White. Burial will follow at China Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to attend a reception at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church following the burial.
Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m., at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
Born in Columbia, Mississippi, on July 1, 1932, she was the daughter of Iley Sylvest and Mattie Lott. Naomi worked as a ward clerk for St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, formerly St. Therese Hospital, for many wonderful years before retiring. She had a servant’s heart and volunteered with the Auxiliary Club at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, where she was a faithful member. Naomi found great joy in caring for her children and grandchildren, and she always looked forward to attending their sporting events. She also loved to get on a dance floor and enjoyed watching a good Texas Rangers game. Naomi was a bright light to all who knew and loved her, and she will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hardy Cromwell; and her children, Elaine Cromwell, and Dean Cromwell.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Burford and husband Mike, and Debbie Lopez; her daughter-in-law, Brenda Cromwell; her grandchildren, Chris Powell and wife Tambi, Brandon Cromwell, Michelle Colledge and husband Jason, Casey Burleson and husband Aaron, and Heather Waybright and husband JonZack; as well as her 11 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Powell, Brandon Cromwell, Jason Colledge, JonZack Waybright, Kolin Powell, and Kyle Daniel.
